The model operated on low axle pressured, secondary railway tracks, therefore, it was utalized as an "engine-substitutional" locomotive. Between 1928 and 1940 about 148 units were manufactured for MÁV, additionally a following 13 units were constructed for the use of The Jugoslavian State Railroads.
The 22.034 locomotive was first manufactured by MÁVAG in 1929. In 1956 august, the serial number was modified to 275.034. Since its facelift in 1985 it has served as part of the nostalgia fleet.
Presently, it is only permitted to be used within the perimeters of the Hungarian Railway Museum.
